从众多方面来说,侧廊之屋是三溪之屋的一种自然延伸,因为它们位于同一地点,同时设计,但分阶段建造。

这所房子位于这片陡峭且树木茂密的地形的低处,纵横交错的沟壑将我们引向住宅。三溪之屋置于场地边界外、坡度相对较低低之处。“地点”是项目主要元素:东面有Tung Fort山丘堡垒;地貌特殊;森林茂密,气候独特,特别是北/东面坐落的大型 Pawna水坝以及南/西南部的低洼丘陵造成的风流。伴随着凶猛而美丽的季风,雨水倾斜而下。

这座房子分为两层,上层是公共空间,下层是睡眠和机械区。屋顶顺着阶梯状的基座并适应着场地水平的逐渐变化。它起伏、移动、侧身、悬停,并保留了提供阴凉处的地形与现有树木,构成了近景和远景的框架。其屋顶的羽状椽子结构形态与下方的“树”状结构交织,使建筑在景观中成为下山旅程中的一处自然的落脚点。

原始玄武岩墙奠定了功能布局的结构。这种石头在历史或现代式的乡村住宅到堡垒的各种类型住所,都能将这种厚重元素化身为建筑景观。侧廊之屋带来的不是普通的新鲜感,而是不太容易辨认但熟悉、转瞬即逝但发自内心的感受,到处都蕴含着对周围环境和过去的影射。

当靠近房子时,从景观中凸起的圆柱体代表着堡垒。住宅的组织结构将“人工(制造)”和“自然(发现) ”融合在一起,不设立可识别性的入口点或固定边界,使空间和移动畅通无阻。住宅就像一个在自然中找到平衡的有机体; 一种特殊的内环境稳定状态。
