UA创作奖•概念设计国际竞赛是面向建筑类院系师生、汇集具有城市责任感及创意理念的系列概念设计竞赛，至今已成功举办14届。UA国际竞赛着重延续理性的设计观念，探索前沿的设计方法，持续地打造理想的城市。为此，主办方虚拟了一座UA城，每年选定一种建筑类型（即城市功能），由参赛者发现这一建筑类型在城市中存在的问题，并提出其未来可能的发展模式，从而不断完善城市的功能。

2018年度UA创作奖·概念设计国际竞赛作为系列竞赛的第15届，除竞赛主题具有特别意义外，更在多个方面进行了升级：

强强联合 哈尔滨工业大学建筑设计研究院携手中国建筑东北设计研究院有限公司，影响力提升；

奖金翻倍 奖金额大幅提高，鼓励性加强。

“纪念”意为人们通过特定事物或行动对人（或事物）表示怀念，是一种具有情感和精神偏向的主体心理活动。而纪念性建筑是为纪念某人或某个事件，负载了特定的纪念精神和情感的物质空间载体。

Memorization is a subjective psychological activity inclined to emotions and spirits, which expresses remembrance to people (or things) through specific things or behaviors. While, the memorial architecture is the physical and spatial carrier undertaking specific memorial spirits and emotions, which is to commemorate someone or certain event. 

在当今文化语境下，纪念的内涵非常广泛，纪念性建筑不需也不应被明确限定和具体描述，纪念性与日常性并非矛盾，甚至可以并置、交织。纪念，是对历史的封存，也是对记忆的开启，既可以超越日常尺度，也可归于平常生活。而纪念性建筑的创作不只是一种设计方法，更是一种生活态度。

There is a quite expensive connotation in commemoration, making it unnecessary or non-mandatory to clearly define or specifically describe what memorial architectures are. The natures of “memorial” and “routine” are not contradictory. Instead, they even could be juxtaposed and interwoven. Memorization, the preservation of histories and opening of memories simultaneously, could not only surpass the scales of routine, but also tend to ordinary life. Further, the creation of memorial architectures is not simply an approach to designing, more an attitude toward life. 

本次竞赛以“UA城的纪念性建筑”为题，希望参赛者进行开放、多元、深入的思考，积极探讨物质空间营造与情感精神寄托之间的关系。

This competition holds the expectation for participants to conduct a brainstorm in an open, pluralistic and insight way, in order to actively explore the relationships between the creation of physical spaces and the dependence existing in emotions and spirits.

1．参赛方案应完整呈现于2张图纸内，图纸分辨率为200dpi（像素/英寸），尺寸为800mm×800mm；图中文字须中、英双语对照，图面表达方式不限

The design is requested to be fully presented in 2 pieces of drawings with the resolution of 200dpi (pixel/inch) and size of 800mm * 800mm. The texts in the drawings are required to be in both Chinese and English. The ways of expression in the drawings have no limitation.

2．作品提交截止日期为2019年1月21日17:00，请在此之前将参赛作品（jpg格式图纸）以附件形式发送至邮箱uajs@vip.sina.com，图纸分别以“注册号-A”“注册号-B”命名；竞赛组委会安排统一打印；邮件名称以注册号命名，其他文件名将不作提交作品之邮件考虑

It is nice of the participants to send the design drawings as attachments in jpg format to uajs@vip.sina.com before 17:00pm on January 21, 2019, which are named respectively as “Registration No.-A” and “Registration No.-B”.

3．连同图纸电子文件一并提交150-200字的作品简介（中文，doc格式），并以注册号命名；获取注册号时的联络电话或电子邮箱若有更改，须特别注明，以免获奖后主办方无法及时联络

Together with the drawings by email, it is nice of the participants to provide 150-200 words of design introduction (in Chinese, doc format) with the Registration No. as the subject.

4．图纸及文档发送邮件时切勿打包压缩，以免解压缩失败

It is suggested not to send files of zip format, in case that the drawings (jpg format) and texts (doc format) fail to be zipped.
